Job description
Christine Valmy Inc. is looking for a hardware and networking computer expert to maintain our network and help us upgrade our systems and software. The person should be familiar with firewalls, networking, servers, network security, wifi systems, operating systems, inventory management, and all aspects of hardware. Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills are required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Partner with Human Resources to execute the employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes
- Will work within the IT Help Desk, accountable for ensuring continuity of desktop services for end users by providing support for Mac OS X, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office Applications.
- Offer support for hardware, software, computer, and network problems as submitted to the Help Desk Ticketing System, support calls, and emails.
- Assist in computer-related duties and projects as needed.
- Familiar with hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and system reloads.
- Essential Functions: Assure continuity of the computer system for all system users and offer technical support of IP Phone System.
- Support desktop hardware, peripherals, and operating systems.
- Perform system and device installation in all locations.
- Maintain network user accounts.
- Help all departments with their specific database and software.
- Call vendors to report problems and dispatch their technical support to copiers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Familiarize end users with basic software, hardware, and peripheral device operation
- Analyze problems (both technical and operational) and arrive at workable solutions.
- Support PC, Laptop, and Virtual Desktop computer hardware and applications
- Promptly document and create tickets for all reports of information system problems.
- Isolate problem trends and ensure that troubleshooting efforts are completed for recurring problems
- Install, configure, update, and support both commercial and proprietary applications
- Establish and maintain Active Directory and e-mail accounts and resource access
- End User Remote support utilizing remote monitoring, management, and control tools.
- End User On-Site user support and IT equipment deployments
- Phone, ticket, and email support for employees
- End user equipment and application deployments Desktops/laptops, monitors, keyboards/mice, scanners, headsets, phones, etc.
- Troubleshooting end-user hardware/software issues, working with vendors to diagnose and fix issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Windows 10/11
- Experience with Office 2016+ & 365.
- General knowledge of Routing, Networking, and Wireless Access Points. Must be able to effectively communicate with end-users
- Requires at least two years of job experience or equivalent training/education dedicated to the IT/Computer Repair/Network Administration type fields to be considered. Certifications, as well as Windows Server experience are a plus
- Effective collaboration skills with software development teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Preferred MSc/BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
